Purpose

  • Allows for more sensitive detection of media acidification using lower carbohydrate concentrations (compared to other standard indicator plates)

Technical Details

Materials Needed

  • Ingredients[1]
    • Tryptone
    • NaCl
    • Bromothymol blue (BTB) solution
    • Bile salts no. 3
    • Agar
    • Sugar (L-arabinose, L-rhamnose, D-lactose, and D-galactose were used in the reference)
