DE(gpt-lac)5 is the deletion DE( pro-lac)X111 of Jacob and originated in strain Hfr 3000 X111 (CGSC).
The lacI33-Omega-lacZ fusion on the F' plasmid has a +1 frameshift mutation such that the cells are phenotypically Lac−.
