YK2008 was isolated by selecting for derivatives of YK102 that are resistant to phage Chi and then screening for loss of motility. Note that in the paper[1], the flgE gene is referred to by the older name, flaK.

For the flgE2008(Am) mutation, the allele number was added by an OMP curator following the pattern seen in papers from the Simon lab of naming alleles based on strain numbers. Siegele (talk) 13:44, 18 July 2016 (CDT)
