Materials Needed

• 0.98 mg FeCl₃ (6 H₂O)
• 8.3 mg MgCl₂ (6 H₂O)
• 19.8 mg MnCl₂ (4 H₂O)
• 535 mg NH₄Cl
• 106 mg Na₂SO₄
• 68 mg KH₂PO₄
• 96.5 mg NH₄NO₃
• 219 mg CaCl₂
• 2 g L-glutamic acid
• 2.8 g sodium lactate
• 100 mg L-alanine

Additional supplements:

• 20 mg L-tryptophan
• 100 mg other L-amino acids
• 20 mg uracil
• 20 mg adenosine
• 2.5 mg rifampin

Protocol

• pH adjusted to 7.1 with KOH
• medium solidified with 15 g agar
