Purpose

  • Isolation of B. typhosus and members of the intermediate group
  • Isolation of E. coli, B. aerogenes, B. enteritidis, and B. cholera suis

Technical Details

Materials Needed

  • Pre-autoclave
    • Dipotassium phosphate
    • Agar
    • Distilled water
  • Post-autoclave additives
    • lactose, or other sugar
    • alcoholic solution of basic fuchsin
    • freshly prepared sodium sulphite
